With the recent injury suffered by rookie defenseman Beer Burglar, Beaver GM Poddie has some roster decisions to make.  Fortunately for Poddy who is know more for his abilities on the ice than off it, the decision may not be that difficult to make.

Beer Burglar has improved seemingly every game this year and has become an integral part of the famed Beaver Damn through his willingness to block shots.  The news of his injury came as a surprise to the team since he finished the game in which he was injured.  When told of the news, Rat said "Wow.  That is big news.  Hopefully our PIM leader can return in time for the run!"

The Beavers have had depth this season on the blue line with the four starting regulars Poncho, Van Wilder, Paddy and Beer Burglar and two backups who would make Wade Belak proud in Nammer and Red Rocket.  With a roster spot opening with Burglar on the injured reserve, Poddy has the option of calling up Cutie Pie who has been banished to the minors for most of the season or throwing one of the backups into the mix.

Cutie Pie seems to be anxious to rejoin the team.  When asked about his thoughts on his chances on being called up, he enthusiastically was quoted as saying "My back’s doing a lot better now. I played last night and so far I’m doing well today. If this keeps up I’ll be available if there’s a spot."

When told that Beer Burglar would be out for at least the rest of the regualar season, Poddy was quoted as saying "Who is in and who the F*** is out?". He seemed more concerned with with status of the rest of the team saying "Number 11 should have the beer."  The pressure of this up and down regular season is getting to the GM/Coach/Player.  He later told Cuttie Pie "You are  in as a reg until (Beer Burglar) is healthy if that works for you?"

Poddy did not comment on a possible contract extension for Beer Burglar, but it is expected that he will be back with the team with a long term contract.
